chapter 3
the Trial
The trial is all about Charles Darnay, and him being accused of spying for the French, and about Carton helping Charles get out of the trial.
chapter 5
Marriage proposals
Charles kept trying to get dr Manette to tell Lucie that he loves her. dr Manette agrees in the condition that if Lucie loves him back, they could get married, but they did not know that Charles had a love rival- Carton. while Charles was talking to dr Manette, Carton was expressing his love for Lucie. Lucie felt extremely pityful of Carton, but didn't really love him back.
chapter 4
Monsieur le Marquis
The start of this chapter focuses on mr Lorry talking to ms Poss about his worries for dr Manette. Later on in the text, dr Manette gets sick. The second part is when we meet the Character- monsieur le Marquis. In this half of the chapter, we find that the Marquis is a very arrogant person, and that he was very cruel to the poor - which is also why he got killed.
chapter 2
the Shoemaker
This scene shows the difficulties of the poor living at that time. This chapter talks about dr Manette meeting his daughter again, and about mr Lorry talking to Defarge about dr Manette.
chapter 1
Recalled to life
There was a time where to some, it was the best of times, but to others, the worst. This story begins with jerry cruncher sends a note to Jarvis Lorry, and mr Lorry tells him to send back a message - recalled to life. When mr Lorry had arrived, he met up with Lucie Manette and talked about the fact that dr Manette might still be alive.
chapter 6
Charles and Lucie marry
this chapter tells us about the mysterious murder of the Marquis and how it happened. It also talks about how Charles and Lucie gets married. After Charles marries Lucie, Charels has a conversation with Carton about becoming friends.
chapter 7
the revolution in France
after a few years, Charles and Lucie had a daughter called little Lucie. the french revolution has begun, and all the people are preparing for war. After that, the scene changes to when Charles decides to go to France to save his servant.
chapter 8
the prison of la Force
this part is all about Charles getting put into the prison of la Force, and Defarge telling Charles about the new rules in France.

Carton keeps his promise
Carton decides that he would die instead of Charles, since ms Manette couldn't live without him (Charles). the story ends with Lucie Manette letting go of Carton's hand, and then his life coming to an end.
