Anarchism, Pros vs Cons - Coggle Diagram
Anarchism
Anti heirarchy
Anarchy means "without a ruler" in Latin. So following its namesake anarchism is an ideology espousing the belief of a society without rulers. To achieve this, most anarchists agree that to abolish rulers we must abolish hierarchies.
Justified hierarchy
Although the traditional position is that any and all hierarchies must be abolished, some anarchist theorists like Noam Chomsky or Murry Rothbard (alongside most capitalist anarchists) believe that some hierarchies are "justified" and should not be abolished.
Zero hierarchy
Traditionally, most anarchists like Peter Kropotkin reject any and all forms of hierarchy outright.
Anti state
Due to anarchism's belief in a society without rulers, the state is directly opposed to this. Anarchists view the state as coercive, violent and inherently unjust.
