Complete removal of prostate due to prostate cancer or BPH
Lower abdomen incision (retropubic)

BPH: enlargement of prostate (benign) that causes urinary obstruction, urgency, leakage, frequent urinartion
Prostate cancer: most common cancer in men over 50
TURP:
Transurethral resection of the prostate. Performed through the penis with an endoscope - temporarily removes obstruction so doctors can plan definitive treatment for prostate cancer
