Growing up Nitin's father made him listen to a lot of videos from a grassroot activist in India who focused on reducing dependance on multinationals, and focused on local, handmade consumption that kept societies & systems more sustainable. This was Nitin's first interaction with activism or local consumption

Nitin's father has been meditation practitioner for 35 years;

Family was always frugal about expenses, creating waste, kids reminded often to be kind to others
