Definiton
A disorder in one or more of the basic psychological process involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written
This may manifest itself in the imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell or do math calculations
This does not have a learning problem that are visual, hearing, or motor diabilities
Evaluative Components
Vision/ hearing screening
Documentation of specific learning disability
Documentation that the existence of specific learning disability is not the result of visual, hearing, or motor disability
Data that demonstrates that the child was provided appropriate instruction in regular classroom settings

General
A public agency will determine through a process whether the child's response to scientific, research-based intervention
IEP team will include regular education teacher, one person qualified to conduct individual diagnostic exams of children such as a school psychologist.
