Cerebrum structure:
-Largest portion of a mature brain
-2 cerebral hemispheres (mirror images)
-corpus callosum: flat nerve fibers that connect the hemispheres
-The surface of the brain is gyre (singular) ridges, sulci (singular) grooves, fissures (longitudinal & transverse) deep grooves
-The 4 lobes are called frontal, parietal, temporal, & occipital lobes
-The cerebral cortex (thin & grey layer) is outside the cerebrum
-Myelinated (white matter) connects the cell bodies of the cerebral cortex with the rest of the nervous system
-It provides sensory input, muscular movements, stores information(memory), information for reasoning, intelligence,& personality
