Mary Ann was sent to the school for deaf in Hartford for many years were she met Edmund in 1831he was her teacher. He met her brother when he dropped her off too.
Her brothers to construct a saw and grist in 1839, only around 500 white people lived there, Iowa wouldn't become a star until 1846, very rural area
