Went home + told people what had happened <- told them the Good News -> churches planted + grew
Showed Jesus kept his promise + still with them
Jewish Synagogues and Missionary Activity
Town or village + 10 Jewish men = synagogue was permitted
When Paul + other missionaries arrived there was a ready made audience of Jews + God fearers
Jews accepted the Good News -> :red_cross: obey 613 laws, no need for circumsion + trusted in Jesus' sacrifice
Christian Way of Living (Community)
Early Church provided bread for widows + shared wih each other + sold possesions for money for the poor <- what Jesus commanded them to do
Pagans drawn to the Early Church's care for each other -> emptiness and immorality of a Pagan life= unattractive <- converted
Greek Philosophy
Stand on street corners + debate
More educated in Roman society emjoyed cut + thrust of debate
Christians vs philosophers= exposing their beliefs <- attracted to what they were explaining
Martyrdom
Whenever people die for their faith
People prepared to die for it= worthy? -> pagans attracted to hope Christianity offered + dedication
The Diaspora
Jewish communities living in other countries after being carried away <- Cyrus the Great defeated Babylon (586 BC) -> allowed Jews to go back to Palestine if they wanted to
Established synagogues (those who remianed)= ready made audience
