3.1 - Energy demands
Uranium or plutonium is used as the fuel in a nuclear power station. Much more energy is released, per kilogram, from uranium or plutonium than from burning fuels.
Biofuels are renewable sources of energy. Biofuels, such as methane and ethanol, can be used to generate electricity.
Nuclear power, biofuels, and renewable resources are also used to generate some of the energy you use.
Most of the energy you use comes from burning fossil fuels - mostly coal, oil or gas.

3.5 - Big energy issues
Nuclear power stations are expensive to build, run & decommission. Carbon capture is expensive. Renewable resources cheap to run but expensive to install.
Nuclear power stations, fossil fuel power stations and renewable energy resources needed to supply energy in future.
