The Hyperloop
Politics
Positive
According to intelligent transport, hyperloop will contribute towards solving the housing crisis. The cost of living in areas like London is pushing the poor out because of financial instability. So, by making travelling to places around the country cheaper, people will be more willing to live outside of the city.
Hyperloop either runs on pylons or through underground tunnels, so there will be no disturbance to fertile lands and avoids traffic in cities.
negative
land-aquisition
Court cases
Vulnerability of Hyperloop capsules to terrorist attacks. A terrorist just needs to get access to any part of the track, and survival of any passenger is improbable
Land use rights will be concerned for deployment of the project, since the hyperloop will consume a lot of the space at central areas, In addition to the choice of the nation & government who may need to be involved to give permission.
-
Economics
negative
To make the hyperloop a success & spread the invention throughout the world, a huge amount of money and investments are needed; according to NASA that huge amount could never be recouped.
The hyperloop would create a compact region of cities on the five routes, all within a 1-hour, door-to-door travelling distance; this would equate to an additional GDP of 275 billion euro for the province, i.e. growth of +121%.
Positive
It is a low cost transportation system in the long run, so in comparison to a local train, the cost of a ticket is much cheaper. This system would also indirectly help the poorest residents trying to afford rent, since they can reduce their expenses by a ton or/and can live somewhere that fits their needs.
The hyperloop system may create more economic activity between major cities and get states to be more united.
Environmental
negative
The installation requires cutting of a large number of trees. This leads to a huge environmental loss. Furthermore the hyperloop won't fully run solar energy, it would also partially run on electricity which is still bad for the environment.
Time taken to persuade a large quantity of people to give up using their mordern transportation and switch to hyperloop, in the mean time a lot more greenhouse gases will already be contributed to climate change.
Postive
The Hyperloop is actually very environmentally friendly, Since a very less amount of electricity is being consumed to power it, therefore, less emissions are produced in comparison to our modern transportation. Furthermore it can draw power from any source into its own.
Very less noise pollution; since it practically floating by magnetically levitating, it wont rub against the tracks which means less noise.
Social
Negative
High vibrations
If the vacuum in the tube is compromised, it will probably mean instant death for anybody in a pod inside the tube at that time.
Socially, The hyperloop is not always the SAFEST idea since there’s a high risk to life when something happens to the system; especially since it's in the air. In addition no specific safety measures are noted.
High speeds of the hyperloop system may cause vibration & jostling in the train leading the passengers to feel dizzy.
-
Positive
The hyperloop also inderictly increases access to educaion, this is because manier students prefer to go overboard to their universities, but still hesitate since they dont want to travel too far away from home; therefore, if the hyperloop is installed, many students will be able to travel to their preferred destinations with no issues.
-
The technology offers a very fast speed of transportation which is twice that of aircraft. This would help people travel a lot faster & conveniently.
