Statement of Goal and Choices: For my genre analysis, I developed a concept map that connects the three concepts of my choosing (technology, dating apps, and hookup culture) to “intimacy” and “queer.” While “intimacy” and “queer” may be complex terms that are difficult to grasp fully, my intention is to connect them to relatable, current spheres that will, in turn, make the terms more digestible for students. I included some of the resources that I found for my Ten Thousand Things portfolio within my concept web. It consists of an ad, a poem, a concept from my favorite podcast Girl's Gotta Eat, and sex toys. Like our concept mapping, I wanted to connect all of the concepts using the theories and ideas I included in my QI paper.
My primary goal for this project is to take the two terms that we are dissecting in this class (intimacy and queer) and apply them to the technologies and networks that I use and students may use regularly or are familiar with.
