lords are one out of the two houses in parliament.the lords are selected by people or selected because they have something that the government might want.There are also hereditary lord who have become a lord by having a family member in the house of lords.
the lords have many different jobs such as appointing and shaping the laws
house of commons
the house of commons contains lots of MPs that debate new laws and anything else that people want to be heard in the government.MPs are elected by the public to represent a town or city and get their word into the government

conservatives political belief that supports emphasis on traditions and relies on the individual to maintain society.

pros the fist past the post system is very simple and lots of people and MPs understand and do not want to change it.
Cons of the first past the post system is tactical voting this is where people don't bother voting they think their vote will have little chance of helping elect their candidate.
smaller parties do not gain fair representation the smaller parties do not get a chance because of the voting systems.
