  - - - This usually includes a formal statement recognizing the death and damages, societal impact, economic losses, and the need for outside assistance. Disaster declarations may also discuss if the damage is covered by insurance, if the attack has traumatized the community, and if the consequences result in unemployment or evacuation and sheltering.

        If possible, the location of bodies should be recorded. This will help with investigation. ID tags on the deceased and maps of their location can assist with this objective.
        
        Remains should be stored for processing. This may occur at hospitals or county morgues. Innovative ideas can help you when bodies outstrip storage facilities. Bodies have been stored in unmarked refrigerated trucks or even at ice skating rinks.
        
        Clothing, jewelry, and other items (e.g. wallets or berets) should be removed and saved for family members. The height, weight, gender, and other identifying features (e.g. tattoos, mustaches, dentures, and cavities) must be recorded. Fingerprints and pictures of the body should also be taken to facilitate identification.
        
        After bodies have been identified, they can be returned to families for burial. If remains are not claimed, they can be buried in recorded graves.
        
        Respect for the wishes of the surviving family members (e.g. cultural burial practices) should be ensured.
      - Disaster Mortuary Operations Response Team (DMORT):
        A group of private citizens from around that nation who may be activated by the federal government to assist with mass fatality incidents.
    - - Debris management:
        The removal, storage, disposal, or recycling of rubble produced from terrorist attacks.
