most nervous aspect of it was meeting new people, making friends, and being completly alone, like there's no one

we went out with all the flat mates and that was really good to like bond with them and we were all saying 'oh, we're like a family'
It sounds like that was a priority for you that week, meeting people?
Poppy: Yeah cause thats the most scary thing about it

with Philosophy my friend there like we're going out tonight and we always talk about other things other than work
-
havig someone there to sort of support and enjoy their company and to talk to will make the whole transition like a whole lot easier.

apart from philosophy, im not as interested in it anymore cause like im really hyped up about Psychology
I really wanna do Psychology in the future so like my focus is Psychology,
Philosophy you have to like interpret it yourself and you're reading all these ancient texts and that and then you have to try and talk about them and its just so complex ... So im not very interested in it anymore,
approachable and friendly staff are very important, cause if you've got like a horrible..well not a horrible lecturer
you'll think 'oh i dont like my lecturer' and that'll put a downer on the whole subjects as a whole.
attending lectures and seminars is most important to me.. help you for your long term goals and to get the degree
belonging
Yeah yeah I do erm especially with things like the research participation pool... helping people like yourself and third year students with their research which will in turn help you when you come to do it in third yea

careers seminars and all the support you get from what you want to do in psychology in the future, (encourages sense of belonging)

-
you've got a good relationship with your staff and they know who you are, and you've voiced your opinions then you've made yourself stand out
transition to uni

first week of lectures
-
going to univeristy itself so i think i was just completely out of it but then after that week i settled in more and i got to grips with it and it hasnt happened again,
lecturers and the tutors are really really supportive and helpful and you never feel like you're wasting their time if you're talking to them,
yeah i did sort of expect it...seminar tutors they've gone above and beyond to help us ... i didnt expect that
motivation
-
-
it seems for others that's not their primary aim... them university and university life is the social aspect of it erm and that is important too
-
differences from college
-
It's different because like at college id have Psychology and I'd just have one teacher for it but here at university you have different lecturers for each subject and so its hard for them to get to know you and for you to get to know them properly
you only have them for quite a short while and because there's so many other students its like hard for them to establish a good relationship between just one student
