Caste System

Bonded Labor

This is a system of contracts in which someone sells their body (service) for a period of time in a contract very similar to slavery, except that it is entered into voluntarily

THERE IS A CHANGE OF IDEOLOGY

This is another form of social stratification, a lifelong condition in which people's status is determined by their birth.

Example

Endogamy

Societies with this form of stratification attempt to ensure that boundaries between castes remain rigid. They practice endogamy, marriage within their own group, prohibiting the marriage of members of different castes.

U.S Racial Caste System

From birth, race marked everyone for life . All white people considered themselves superior to all African Americans, even if they were poor and uneducated.
