Islam
Faith (Shahada) - the declaration of faith
Prayer (Salah) - pray 5 times a day
Fasting (sawm) - fasting during the month of Ramadan
Alms-giving (zakat) - give money to people who are poor or in need
Pilgramage (hajj) - every eligible Muslim should visit Mecca
Sikhism
Uncut hair (kesh)
Comb (kangha) for the kesh usually
Knife (kirpan) - small curved sword
Bracelet (kara)
Shorts (kachera)
Similarities
There a 5 of each
They both represent a way to love God because they are guides for people to follow their faith
They both show dedication to their religion
Differences
The Muslim pillars represent actions e.g. fasting and the Sikh K's are objects of symbolism. e.g. kangha and kirpan
The 5 pillars are public displays of faith and the 5 K's are personal displays
If everyone was religious there
would
be more equality
Religions often help the poor and needy eg muslims give to charity
Belief that everyone is equal because God made everyone
If everyone was religious it
wouldn't
increase equality
Some religions don't have equality between genders e.g. women not given rights
Not everyone follows their religion the same eg) can choose violence or peace
