When food is wasted, so are the resources utilized to grow the food (water, soil, energy), along with all the energy that processes, packages, and transports food from industries/markets to our houses. Especially with the issue of water scarcity becoming more significant, the wastage of such resources will impact our futures. Twenty five percent of water used in agriculture is used to grow the food that is being wasted. Throwing one burger away is equal to wasted the same amount of water as an hour and a half shower
