When Ruth and Betty fall ill she calmly suggests that "they'll wake in time." and that she has had multiple children and grandchildren and has seen them in their "silly seasons."

In act 4 when she goes into Proctor's cell the first thing she asks is "Ah, John! You are well, then, eh?" This shows that she cares about people's health
