A mime is the use of movements of your hands and body and the expression on your face to tell a story or to act something without speaking; a performance using this method of acting.
There are three basic styles in the two types of mime: Oriental, Italian, and French.
Mime is a form of silent art that involves acting or communicating using only movements, gestures, and facial expressions. A person performing mime is also called a mime. Non-verbal communication dates all the way back to the first human beings.

Mime is important because it is an effective way of encouraging students to develop their acting skills in terms of body language (posture, movements, gestures, etc.) and for them to gain a greater awareness of its importance as a form of communication.
