Rhetorical Devices
Antithesis
The juxtaposition of two opposing elements through the parallel grammatical structure.
Ex: No pain, no gain.
Branching
The arrangement and order of subordinate and main clause in a discourse.
The order determines whether left or right branching has been used.
Left branching: use subordination at the beginning of a sentence.
Right branching: give the important info first then supply a commentary or additional infomation.

Syndetic: conjunctions are used to coordinate groups of words
Asyndetic: commas are used without coordinating conjunction
Repetition
Used to add emphasis and stress in writing and speech
