Who (and what) are the teachers in the maker-centered classroom (e.g. students as teachers, teachers in the community)? Teachers and students take turns being learners and leaders within maker-centered classrooms. Students learn from their peers as well as from their teachers. As stated within the book, students act as mentors to their peers, offer guidance/ coaching, feedback, and other types of support relative to confidence and skill building. In addition to teachers and students, people within communities can act as teachers so long as they are knowledgeable about a particular topic. The internet, when used correctly, can be an excellent teacher. Searching for knowledge online teaches students to self-direct their learning. Decisions such as paths to follow, judging reliability and validity of information, and reviewing learning throughout the process of online learning.
