The Restoration
It was the return of the political system of the Acien Régime that was imposed by the victorious European powers after Napoleon was defeated on 1815
Its supporters believed that the only one capable of leading the country was the monarch
Popular sovereignty and constitutions did not exist because they could limit the monarchs power

It was given Lombardy-Venetia, part of Poland, Dalmatia and the Tyrol
Prussia
It was given the Rhineland, part of Poland and part of Saxony, however, it got divided into two

It was given Finland, part of the Ottoman Empire and part of Poland and it became the most important power of the continent
The United Kingdom
It was given control of the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea
It was also given Malta and the Ionian Islands

It was led by Austria and Prussia
Sweden was given Norway, which had been already controlled by Denmark
Belgium and the United Provinces united and formed the Kingdom of the Netherlands
France was reduced in size to its 1791 borders
