Career Exploration
Webinar
7 different panelists, 1 uncategorized, 3 for STEM subjects, and 3 for Social science subjects
Put some creative subjects in there too! Like art and music, universities look for those subjects because they want creative, innovative, and workers that can think out of the box
I think we should do 2 Social Science and maybe 1 creative subjects
Hosted on Zoom
Is Google Meet and option too?
Yup I suppose either works
Podium Debate
Showcase
We would host it on Zoom
there could be a kahoot
Could be based on previous motions in the debate.
The contestans shouldn't know the motion before-hand. They should be given 15 minutes prep time or more.
Contestants could choose and form their own teams. The contestants can also assign speaker roles before the debate.
If the debate is British Parlimentary, we can announce that contestants need to form group of twos. If it is Asian Parlimentary, then the groups need to be include of 3 people.
We could get the audience to vote for the side they think should win if we don't want to have judges
This could be done through a poll
If we want judges to judge the debate. we could ask the Podium Debate trainers to either help judge or find other judges for the debate.
I feel like this should be something like a trial class, but with more fun debate topics (not economics and politics)
Other Ideas
Donation Drive
Cash: We can create a form for donation of money online and post them online on websites like Twitter, Facebook, etc.
we could give people who donate a big amount of money a free pass
to one of our talks
Items:This would be harder as not many donators are interested in covering the fees of transportation. It would also require one of us to reveal our house address.
Items: We could collect basic needs like clothing, toiletry and toys.
Crowdfunding
Have the public to donate little amount of money to Greater Action. It can incentives more people to be willing to donate money.
For example, 30 people donate RM10 each, in total we can raise fund at RM300.
We can set a fee for joining the event, for example RM10. And people can donate more money if they want to.
We could have a small fee for people joining the Career Exploration Webinar.
Refugee Kids Competition
In person
Have a relay race where the refugees would be split into teams. They would have to use the knoedge they've learned to answer questions. The fastest team which completes the relay wins.
The winning team can compete among themselves and the best 3 will get gift card prizes.
Teach different topics such as critical thinking, english vocabulary, and etc. If taught in person, they could be split into different groups and be sorted out based on their age.
If we have the refugee kids compete in some basic knowledge online, we can have them use a website with flashcards called Quizlet.

Quizizz(

Online
Kahoot is also an option
Created a lot of chaos in my class :D
Gimkit
If you were to appeal to a younger audience or something with a team game in it, Gimkit is perfect then
It could be better for it to be hosted in-person. However, if we don't have a choice, we could do it through Zoom.
