Lean Production
Lean production is a way of manufacturing one product and avoid the waste in the producing process, while improving product's quality. It was invented by Taiichi Ohno
Advantage
- Customer service can be improved through lean production. The factory can make products according to the needs of customers.
- Lean Production can increase every works' productivity. Every worker can produce more product than before.
- Lean Production can increase the products' quality. The number of products that is reduction in defects and reworking faulty goods decrease, which mean the customer loyalty can be improved.
- The Lean Production can short the time of produce product, which mean the customer can get the product early. The customer loyalty can be improved.
- Lean Production can increase the environment in the factory. The machine will be safer. The worker can work harder than before.
Disadvantage
- Lean production has limit. Lean production only suit for the large manufactory or produce a large number of products at one time. The small company doesn't worth to do that. The cost will be large for small company.
- The Lean Production has high requests for company. The factory must have good relationship with suppliers to support them produce large number of products. Also co-ordinate production and have a JIT system are request too.
- When Lean production get into the factory, some worker will lose their jobs, because the new way of working. This will leads to the job losses.
JIT(Just In Time)
The company will order the parts and get them delivered the same day from the supplier, which means the business does not keep stocks of parts in a warehouse. That request very close relationships with the suppliers, and may even be involved in the design of the components.
-
- JIT can reduce the cost of the company. Because the factory will measure their needs to order parts. This can reduce the waste of raw materials.
- JIT can reduce costs. Because the parts needed by the factory are shipped from the supplier on the same day, there is no need for warehouses and employees to store the parts. This factory reduced a lot of costs.
3.The use of JIT can make the company's cash flow more stable. The company's cash will not be tied to the company's stock, which will not cause the more liquid cash to become real property.
-
- The use of JIT will limit the company's inventory and cannot cope with unpredicted large-volume demand. In this way, it can remain stable, but there is no way to deal with accidents.
- The use of JIT makes it impossible for companies to quickly replace damaged parts. This will affect the company's output to a certain extent.
- The use of JIT will make the company unable to bear the supplier's problems. If the supplier cannot deliver in time, this will affect the entire company and even cause the entire production line to stop production, which is very expensive.

I can buy a treadmill at home, so I can save time when I go out for exercise. Oatmeal can be used for breakfast instead of eggs, bread and other foods that you usually eat, so you can save costs. Lunch and dinner can be delivered to home through takeaway, so that while saving costs, you can also save the time to learn.
