Lean Production
Advantages
- Accurate preparation and delivery according to customer requirements, which can improve the quality of service.
- Increased employee productivity during the period, resulting in increased output.
- The resulting products are of better quality, which can reduce complaints and improve customer satisfaction. Also, this reduces the probability that the product will be returned and reworked, thus reducing the cost of defects and rework.
- Delivering goods more timely can be the selling point of products and make the company's products more competitive.
- Better working conditions, leaner and more efficient organizations.
Disadvantages
- More suitable for large companies and production companies in the mass market.
- Must maintain good relationship with suppliers and have higher dependence on suppliers. In addition, a just-in-time system needs to be established.
- Employees may not adapt to the production mode of lean production, so they will have resistance and think that this change will make them unemployed, so they are not willing to change.
Just-in-time
Advantages
- All inputs are purchased precisely according to the amount to be used, so there are no costs associated with inventory and wear and tear.
- Input purchases are used up in a timely manner, thus reducing the cost of the warehouse and managing warehouse personnel.
- Products are not easily out of date, and they can respond well to changes in the market and customer needs.
- It creates better cash flow, because the company doesn't have too much stock, which is all in cash, so the company has more cash flow.
Disadvantages
- Businesses cannot cope with a sudden increase in customer demand because they have no inventory.
- Enterprises cannot quickly replace damaged input because the number of parts is precisely the number of outputs.
- If input from the supplier is not obtained in time, the whole production line will stop working, which is very expensive.
