self (al-nafs)
Definition of al-nafs; it is something internal in the entity of a human whose exact nature cannot perceived. It is ready to accept direction towards n evil. It is combines together a number of human attributes and charateristic that have a clear effect on human behaviour
Conceptual ; soul, psyche, essence of life
Operational ; Human soul - Spiritual elements, Human Self- associate with body
al - nafs (al-ghazali) - anger, desires, inner heart
al-nafs refers to al-ruh when it is inside of the body
the term of al-ruh is used when is separated or apart from a body
level of al-nafs - peaceful, inspired, self-reproaching, tend to evil

Recognise / conscious of evil deeds
Blames itself for wrongdoings
Feel guilty / regret
aware imperfection of self
Some people repent / regret, but some ignore
Tend to evil
incite to evil
prone to evil
if not check n control - lead to perdition / astray

Allah's will - protects from these desires

angels
revelation
devine inspiration
human inner-self/the self of human
gives life to mind and body
spreading throughout the physical limbs
once ruh remove; the physical body not function
Ruh is
conceptual - originated from arabic word "al-rih" - breeze, wind, airstream
operational - spirit, soul, breath of life
the spirit (al-ruh) is a luminous essence of a fluid nature that differs from anything perceptible through the senses
