The small intestine has enzymes that are made by its wall and pancreas to digest proteins, carbohydrates and fats. The proteins, carbohydrates, and fats that are digested to be small enough to be absorbed, including water, minerals, and vitamins, will be absorbed into the blood and sent to other parts of the body. These proteins, carbohydrates, and fats will be used as energy to do activities while water, minerals, and vitamins will help the body to work normally.
