stanza 1
I do not ask for youth, nor for delay
in the rising of time’s irreversible river
that takes the jewelled arc of the waterfall
in which I glimpse, minute by glinting minute,
all that I have and all I am always losing
as sunlight lights each drop fast, fast falling.
stanza 2
I do not dream that you, young again,
Might come to me darkly in love’s green darkness
Where the dust of the bracken spices the air
Moss, crushed, gives out an astringent sweetness
and water holds our reflections
motionless, as if for ever.
stanza 3
It is enough now to come into a room
and find the kindness we have for each other
– calling it love – in eyes that are shrewd
but trustful still, face chastened by years
of careful judgement; to sit in the afternoons
in mild conversation, without nostalgia.
stanza 4
But when you leave me, with your jauntiness
sinewed by resolution more than strength
– suddenly then I love you with a quick
intensity, remembering that water,
however luminous and grand, falls fast
and only once to the dark pool below.

sehr: cyclic- natural processes are ongoing in contrast to humans which is mentioned in all three poems. In the poems, words like death and fewer days remaining have been mentioned relating back to the contrast which highlights the difference between us and nature
Siya- The flow of water cannot be stopped or changed by anyone. Similarly, once time has passed, it cannot return. In a waterfall, streams of water come racing down just like in time hours pass by without people realising how many minutes have actually elapsed.
Nishka- Waterfall / Time Never ending aspect of Time and the speed of the waterfall is constant, how we perceive the speed and the permanent nature of Time is what makes the difference
Rumaisa - The waterfall flows with a violent force that causes a deafening sound. This is similar to how in the early stages of life, multiple things grasp our attention and distract us. There are various aspects of life for us to focus on which causes a loud bustling noise in our life. Education, career,
Ardaan- time is uncontrollable, just like a waterfall. A waterfall is violent and is considered powerful and so is time. time is something that cant be tamed, just like a waterfall. the past has been lived and can't change, the present needs to be lived and the future needs to be focused on to make it the best version possible.
Water's motion and its perception is relative. Water that has flowed cannot move back up the water fall, reflecting transcience - Arjun
A waterfall continues to fall, no matter how many rocks might disrupt its flow. Similarly, life continues to go on no matter what. The waterfall and life both have a beginning and end. - Kashvi
Aaliya- Since water is a liquid, its flow is strong and hard. Similarly, time cannot be stopped and its continuation is inevitable and powerful
Jai - In waterfalls, the water continuously flows, it never ends. Its just like time that is infinite and cannot be controlled. Once time goes, it never comes back just like the water.
Sukriti- Time is constant, it doesn't wait for anyone and it passes according to its own clock, as ironic as that may be. Just like that, a waterfall does not stop and it goes on and on. At the end of every waterfall there is a plunge pool which is a collection of water and erosions created and at the end of someone's life, there is a funeral which is a collection of the person's life and when someone's time is near they reminisce about their past, about their entire life.
