Connection between social darwinism and the theory of evolution
Darwinism claims to describe the change inn species over time, usually know as evolution. Breaking this two words apart mean: Darwinism: natural selection Social Darwinism: the selection of the organism that is most suitable
The theory of evolution aims that all species are connected and evolve over time.
Connection between Eugenics and the Superman and Galton
Philosopher Nietzsche, had the ability to form a Eugenic Religion. Those devoted, are against believing that some imagined "Superman" as "A new Darwinian specie"
Eugenics and Superman are two recent topics that one way or another are kind of connected
Both Galton and Nietzsche published an article at the same year. This also happened when Nietzsche wrote about Superman and Galton founded Eugenics
Social Darwinism
Herbert Spencer is most known for his social Darwinism ideology, which claims that the processes of evolution, apply to human societies and classes, and Biological species
He created a concept that implies "survival of the fittest", which indicated that those who were physically fitter would survive in the social sphere owing to some biological process, to finally, pass on their genes
Social Darwinism is the concept that some people rise to positions of authority in society because they are naturally superior. Over the last century and a half, social Darwinism has been used to explain imperialism, racism, eugenics, and socioeconomic inequality at different times.
The theory of evolution (Darwin)
The three fundamental components of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution were that mutation happened randomly amongst organisms, that an individual's features could be inherited by its offspring, and that only those with advantageous traits would survive in the battle for life.
"Natural Selection" was invented to differ from "Artificial Selection" (animal). Going deeper into that concept, the environment is the one in charge of deciding everything in natural selection.
As species features differ in a society, those with a better features will be able to survive and adapt and pass on these genes to their offsprings. Those species not able to adapt will eventually reduce and not pass on the features, therefore only those who were able to survive will be able to pass on their traits
Richard Dawkins and the Selfish Gene
The Selfish Gene shows how genes appear in the form of organisms, everything they do to guarantee their survival, how they train our minds, which tactics have worked best throughout time, and what make humans unique in this setting.
In this war for survival, what compete is the gene variations and not the organisms themselves.
Superman (Nietzsche)
The conception of the superman indicates humanity's highest development concept. It expresses the belief in man's full potential and inventiveness, accepting fate, either pleasant or unpleasant, which basically implies "saying yes" to life instead of just no to its difficulties. It purpose is to solve contemporary social problems, morality, and as a critique of religion
