Quantitative Approach
Advantages
Information can be more accurately verified, confirmed, and checked.
Allows the research to measure and analyze data.
Researcher is more objective about the findings if the research.
It can be used to test hypotheses in experiments because of its ability to measure data using statistics.
Collect reliable and accurate data
The outcomes obtained are really reliable because data is presented in numbers.
Quick data collection
Data is gotten from a representative group of a population, so it saves time and lessens wasting resources.
Extensive range of data analysis
Permits a broader collection of data obtained from bigger sample groups.
Eliminate bias
The outcomes reached are statistical so there's no possibility for own interpretations.
It focuses on hypothesis testing based on a well-defined plan and clear objectives.
It's useful for doing sample group segmentation.
Disadvantages
It doesn't provide enough explanations about the reasons of the effect of certain variables or aspects about the study group within a detailed context.
Positivism paradigm neither describes how reality is “shaped” nor refers to how persons “interpret” their behaviors
Phenomena is revealed partially
It's difficult to understand human phenomena when studying human behavior.
It's not purely objective
Many influences affect people's response to questions.
It must be enriched in qualitative description.
Analysis conducted is with the application of those methods is generality more expensive, demanding greater experience and advanced tools.
Statistical significance may have little real-world meaning.
Insufficient concentrating
There's the possibility of missing information that can be useful to consider for making final conclusions.
Some mistakes may happen if a hypothesis or a method for collecting and analyzing data is not accurately developed which can cause invalidation of the results.
Findings can be biased by researchers’ perspective.
