People often say that competition creates winners and losers, and where the losers are often recognized as the 'not good enough ones' which leads them to perform in academics poorly and have their academic self-concept crushed. However, I do believe that competition helps us to know our abilities. Losing in a certain competition doesn't mean we lost because we don't have the same ability, but it's just that we see their abilities in a different way, and competition is much more complex than that. In some cases, the different abilities that we have help us do more than winning and helps us to boost our self-confidence. If likely, this misconception has been used in basketball games, then there would be no players by now.
