Definition- an assessment that requires students to perform a task rather than regular tests or answering questions

Definition- used as forms of pre-assessments to determine a student's strengths and weaknesses as well as prior misconceptions. This information can help teachers to plan their instruction to meet student needs

Interim/Benchmark
Definition- used to see where students are in their learning and determine if they are on track with their learning to do well on future assignments.

Summative
Definition- used to evaluate student learning at the end of the unit. these are usually high stakes, so they have a high grade value.
