    -about the birth and life of Mary, very religious and treated very holy her whole life, draws in on her pregnancy and how the church reacts, thinking that Jospeh has defiled her. Even after birth, Mary is thought to be a virgin since her hymen, as checked by the midwife is still intact, which is impossible except by miraculous means.
    -is a complete document that serves as a source for other non cannonical works
  • is considered gnostic because was condemned as heretical by Pope Innocent I in 405 CE, also thought of Mary being from wealthy family and not peasant goes against church tradition

-provides a collection of miracle stories from the ages of 5 to 12 in Jesus' life.
