The importance of setting Goals
Provide guidance and agreement
They help steer employees in the right direction.
And all the actions they preform
They won't feel lost working, and days won't feel long, if you have a set task and know what to do, it becomes easier.
Clearly formulated
This helps with identifying how many resources will be required to finish this goal
Clear and easy to understand will help employees get on board with working towards it
An example of this would be if employees could see what they are working towards they would work harder to get there.
Inspire and motivate
This also helps employees not to feel lost in their work
They know what they are working towards
If employees know what they are working towards they will work hard at it, because it will feel more like teamwork.
When they see a link between their work and the overall progress, they feel important
An example of this would be employees feeling like work was bringing meaning to their life because what they do is important.
Effective evaluation
This helps with monitoring the growth towards a goal
If a goal is measurable, people will be able to see how much effort they have put in and how much that has helped the progression towards the goal
It allows for the goal to be monitored for its used of resources
This includes employee work hours
This includes total costs
