Exceptions also exist where the work is used for the purposes of examinations, parliamentary or judicial proceedings, and government inquiries - CDPA 1988, s 79(4A) (as inserted by SI 2014/1372, Sch., para. 4). The right of attribution applies to cases that would not infringe copyright because they amount to cases of fair dealing for purposes of criticism or review. However, because a finding of fair dealing requires ‘sufficient acknowledgement’ of the author, most cases of fair dealing will not infringe the moral right of attribution. See also E.
