Survey Methods
Generally speaking, qualitative methods are used, but there is something to be said for integrating some quantitative methods. More often part of mixed methods design Norton 2019
Advantages of a survey design is that students are more likely to be honest, especially if the survey is anonymous. This helps minimise power relations such as your teacher role and your authority. Norton 2019

Focus groups can be useful for capturing a range of opinions instead of consensus, but can be dominated by one or two outspoken individuals Norton 2019
Observation
Direct observation has the downside of students knowing they are being observed, this has the advantage of no deception however. Norton 2019
Thematic analysis
A series of stages in which you reduce the content by putting them in a series of codes, in order to discern some important themes.
Can be applied to many different pedagogical contexts as it is not tied to any epistemological or theoretical concept. Maguire and Delahunt 2017
Content analysis
Like thematic analysis, the goal is to reduce large text to a concise summary of key results. Erlingsson and Brysiewicz 2017

Most AR projects in the literature build on the idea of action reflection cycles follwing Lewins (1946) original design McNiff 2016

Data Gathering
Aim to gather data on a regular basis and keep records as you monitor and evaluate each cycle McNiff 2016
