- - - - 4) “Written Prior Notice” is sent to the parents stating the IEP team’s decision:
        
        a) a child is in need of special education and related services
        
        5) Evaluation Process Begins
        
        a) an IEP team and parents determine that a child needs to be evaluated for special education.
        
        b) an IEP team reviews any information they have about a child.
        
        c) a written consent for the evaluation is obtained from parents.
        
        d) evaluation is completed within 60 days of parents’ consent.
        
        e) the school sends a copy of the evaluation and assessment report to the parents 5 days prior to the meeting with an IEP team.
        
        6) Determination of Eligibility and Disability Category.
        
        a) an IEP team determines if one or more of a specific disability type listed in the NH Rules Ed 1102.01(t) are identified in a child and if a child is eligible for special education. (New Hampshire Special Education Procedural Safeguards Handbook, 2018).
        b) an IEP team meets every 3 years to determine eligibility for special education.
        
        7) Development of the IEP.
        
        a) an IEP team develops an IEP within 30 days after a child is identified as needing special education and related services.
        
        b) an IEP Team includes specific required elements listed in the NH Rules Ed 1109.01 and 1109.03. (New Hampshire Special Education Procedural Safeguards Handbook, 2018).
        
        c) an IEP is reviewed annually with a 10-day notice sent to the parents prior to the meeting.
