In Sophocles' Antigone , the city of Thebes is under the tyrannic rule of King Creon, who turns against anyone who disagrees with his ways. Antigone, the protagonist, is virulently against Creon, whose laws claim that she is not allowed to mourn her recently dead brother, Polynices. Burying him anyway, Antigone is arrested by Creon and is sent away to a high tower. In Antigone's words, she just wants to follow the words of the Gods.
