- - - - 4 main types of pathogen: Fungi, protists, bacteria, viruses
        
        Fungi - have a nucleus but not all cause disease
        
        Example in animals is athletes foot which is a rash between toes
        an example in plants are rose black spot which infects roses causing black spots of the leaves
        
        Viruses - viruses are not alive because they don't complete all 7 stages of life, there are strains of viruses which have short DNA material
        
        An example in animals is HIV which is transmitted through body fluids, cuts and injecting drugs through shared needles
        An example in plants is tobacco mosaic virus which infects tobacco and lots of other closely related species, such as tomatoes and peppers. It is transmitted contact of plants, either naturally or through the hands of farmers.
        
        Bacteria - not all bacteria are pathogens such as useful bacteria in intestines
        
        An example in animals is Gonorrhoea which is an STD
        An example in plants is salmonella which is a type of food poisoning
        
        Protists - group of microorganisms that belong to animals, plants and fungi
        
        An example is malaria which is spread by mosquitoes
  - - - This causes your white blood cells to produce a complementary antibodies to attach to the antigen
  - - - the only cure bacterial diseases and not viral ones
    - - not complteing a pescription
        
        completing a full course makes sure all bacteria is killed
        
        if not strains will be produced that are resistant to the antibiotic
      - use in farming
        
        Antibiotic were used in farming to help the animals grow quickely
        
        however the spread of antibiotic resistance can go to human hosts
      - overuse
        
        when people go to the doctor they expect anitbodies to be pescribed however if they are sused to much bacteria becomes immune to it
