In response to the Boston the Tea Party the British decided to get stricter with the Colonies. They passed new laws or acts. One of these being the quartering act, this allowed the British troops to live in the houses of the Citizens in Boston. They citizens had to provide food and other goods.
Lexington and Concord

The British planned to capture colonial radical leaders and go to the Concord to take the gunpowder from Boston. American spies found out about the plan and spread the word to be ready for the British. The British force was confronted with 77 American militiaman, both troop sides started shooting at each other. 7 Americans died while the British had 73 dead 174 missing and 26 missing.

The Stamp Act
The British taxed a wide variety of goods on each colony to help with the debt the British faced after the war with France. The colonists revolted by not buying anything from the British.

Boston Massacre

The Boston Massacre occurred because of tensions between the citizens of Boston and the British troops. 200 Colonists surrounded 7 British Troops and the soldiers apparently lost their control.
