The climate of hot deserts is very hot during the day. It can reach over 40 degrees celsius in the summer. However, at night, it can get below freezing.
Desert plants are split into 3 main groups; cacti and succulents, wildflowers and trees, and shrubs and grasses.
Fauna in the desert has to be very hardy. This includes animals for example, camels, frogs, lizards, bobcats, golden eagles, kangaroo rats and spadefoot toads.
