Performance based assessment
In performance-based assessment, we refer to the abilities, skills, and expertise that are required to complete a certain job.
Brown Hudson’s (1998) proposed requirements for task based performance assessment:
-Students need to perform a task
-The task must be as authentic and as like real life as possible.
-The performance is scored by qualified, trained raters.
Performance-based assessment criteria.
It can be developed based on the target language and the observations conducted during the needs analysis.

E-mail writing can be used as performance-based assessment
Chat involves reading and writing skills
Participation in an Internet forum may demonstrate students’ reading and writing competence.
