The school has some guidelines in place for Special Education
Oral Interview
Student introduces themselves stating names, age, country they come from, things they likes.
Teacher picks on cues for confidence in speech, language tenses, body language
Formal Placement Tests (Reading & Math)
Grade tests.
Determine reading level of student - below grade level, within grade level or above grade level
Communicate to parents & school administration. Recommend the way forward if students needs special attention
School Counselor/Special Education Specialist takes on case and puts interventions & measures in place
Continued monitoring with the teacher
Periodic reviews by counselor to determine learning progress
New Student with formal learning disability
Placement Test (Reading & Math) to determine current levels
Communicate grade to parents and institution
Placement into program for students with learning disabilities
Continued monitoring and assistance in teaching
Periodic reviews to determine learning progress of student
