The year is 2050, and human lives have changed DRASTICALLY. From machines…

- - - - You enter the lab with your partner. he shows you his computer screen and you realize that it's complete, you have the program/algorithm to create a "perfect being" with the use of machine learning and Artificial Intelligence. This breakthrough will revolutionize the world and surely make you and your lab partner (your brother) famous. You guys are ecstatic as you have been working so long and hard and finally have the capabilities to do good (you can finally meet the promise you made with your mother before she died).
        
        All the traumatic thoughts/dreams you have been having start to fill you mind. Do you tell your brother to shut down the experiment?
        
        You don't shut it down, and you and your brother set it up that night, naming the prototype "Prime." Prime is able to communicate and all of the above, but it scares you as it starts making decisions for itself. While you programmed two conditions into the robot (must protect the world and make it a better place, you are terrified). So you go home and sleep on it., leaving your brother to monitor Prime overnight. Wake up to your wife screaming at you, realizing that she's crying over the loss of someone. You turn on news to find out its your bro, he died. How? Prime? theres no way. you rush to the lab and its evident that Prime did it. You have no time to grieve, you just try to figure out what happened.
        
        The robot is nowhere to be found, it ends up creating an army of robots with similar attributes to itself and programs new rules into itself and the robots (make humans have kids and then kill them after, if they refuse kill them and take all children three and under and raise them in a certain section of the world where they dream eternally). that was their goal, but the humans wouldn't give up that easily. they tried fighting back, a war broke out and everything in the world was turned to ashes, but in the end, the robots used nuclear weapons to kill major areas of humans, stopping them from resisting and making their plan a reality. All humans are them encapsulated and put in this dream state while the robots continue developing and decide to adventure out into space. While you died way before the beginning of the war, as the robots saw you as a threat and killed you, you watch from above as you see the dystopian world that you created that could have all been avoided if you just watched The Matrix.
        
        You shut it down. But you get into a huge fight with your brother, as he only sees the positives for your breakthrough. You tell him to go home and you guys will talk again later. After he leaves you investigate the software to understand how it works. You grab your lighter from your bag and contemplate setting the whole place ablaze. Do you do it?
        
        Yes you set a trap that will cause a fire and run outside the building fleeing the scene. You made sure to clear the security cameras except one. After the police/firefighters arrive, you tell them that someone threw a Molotov into the building and you fled the lab asap (they assume its the terrorist group named (insert name), and your brother comes in saying that all their work was for nothing. He starts to cry. You snuck out the algorithm on a flash drive but you never told your brother, keeping it a secret. Do you destroy it or not?
        
        you don't destroy it and you continue living life, realizing that nobody was even close to where you and your brother had completed. Your flash-drive is lost in your stuff and you raise your family after getting enough money to support them. But your daughter one day finds the hard drive and decides to load it up without asking you about it. She realizes its code and asks her uncle about it. He is flabbergasted, he thought all the work was lost but in reality it was saved. he takes the hard drive and leaves the house immediate, loading the program into a robot that he built at home. After inserting the program, he assigns the robot task, treating his creation as a human. his festering anger slips as the robot picks up on it and goes out one night to harm you in your home. as you slowly fall asleep in your bed, the robot appears before you, covering your mouth and killing you on your bed.
        
        You destroy it and live a normal life, you build other technology and move away from artificial intelligence, leaving your brother to try by himself and eventually giving up. You get your dream of living in a cottage and as society continues getting wrapped in the latest invention or tech, you live a peaceful life and die of old age, raising your family and spending time with them.

        You pick up to hear your lab partners (brother's) voice, he tells you that he finally figured out the algorithm that they were missing and that their project can be completed tonight. The news hits you hard, while you have been working on this project for days on end, as you got closer to achieving it, you got frightened by how the world may change. You leave dinner early and drive back to the lab. Do you decide to let the car autopilot you there or drive yourself?
        
        You drive yourself, you get to the lab later than if the auto-car drove you, but at least you had control over your car as you never really trusted the system anyways. You lab partner runs out of the building and greets you, telling you to hurry up.
        
        The car drives you. As the car drives, you think you are safe so you fall asleep; the peaceful dream of a world without technology seeps into your head, with thoughts of your family and you relaxing in a wooden cabin in the middle of a dark, snowy woods. While you are dreaming you feel a warm spot in the middle of your chest but you think nothing of it. As you dream, it starts to get warmer and warmer, until all of a sudden you are forced awake with a shock as there is a giant metal pole in that has struck your chest. You have no clue how long its been like that but as you try and call for help your voice is barely noticeable and you can't lift any of your limbs.
        
        You die slowly as you regret all that you did and not spending more time with you family. RIP.
