F2 ELECTRICITY
ELECTRICAL QUANTITIES
Flow of electricity can be measured by an ampere.
S.I unit = ampere (A)
Voltage is the potential difference between 2 points and can be measured using voltmeter
Unit for voltage = volt(V)
resistance = ohm(Ω)
a fixed resistor has resistance that cannot be adjusted
a rheostat or variable resistor has resistaance that can be adjusted
ELECTRIC CHARGES
Protons - positive charges
Electrons - Negative charges
Neutrons - neutral
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VOLTAGE, CURRENT & RESISTANCE
The ability of a conductor to limit or resist the flow of electric current is known as
resistance
Unit : ohm ( Ω)
EFFECT OF NUMBER OF DRY CELLS ON THE VOLTAGE & CURRENT
1 dry cell = 1 ampere
the more the electric current (dry cell) the more the brightness of bulb.
