Winfred Ralph Tyler was born April 22, 1902, in Chicago - Illinois
He received his graduate degree in education from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska
And he began to teach at an institute in the city of Pierre
In 1923 he obtained his master's degree from the University of Nebraska while working as a science supervisor at the center.
In 1938 Tyler obtained the position of professor of education at O.S.University, in which he achieved some recognition working in the program "Eight-year study related to progressive education."
At the end of the study, he began to reflect on what criteria it is necessary to follow in order to carry out a good curricular plan.

Dewey was born on October 20, 1859 in the city of Burlington
In 1881, he moved to Baltimore, where he began his studies in the philosophy department at John Hopkins University.
In 1884, Dewey obtained his doctorate thanks to a thesis on the philosopher Immanuel Kant.
After obtaining his doctorate, he began his career as a professor at the University of Michigan.
Subsequently, Dewey served as a professor at the University of Minnesota and succeeded in creating an "experimental school"
There he elaborated the principles that founded his philosophy on educational models.
The pedagogue conceived the school as a space for production and reflection, which allowed the development of full citizenship.
Dewey focused pedagogy on the child and his interests and argued that learning was achieved from confrontation with problematic situations.

Similarities between Tyler and Dewey
Both Tylor and Dewey made important contributions to the curriculum model.
Both tried to find a curricular model that contributes to society with an effective system in which students could develop their intelligence and abilities to face the different problems of a world in constant change.
