Discernible Reality
-
-
-
Two men of different races, wearing masks and talking about if it is safe to go out again during COVID
-
-
-
-
Two people wearing masks, one African American and one white.
-
Two people of different races wearing masks, with one looking confused and the other tired.
-
-
-
-
although these two people are going through the same pandemic they havr totally different persectives on the matter and how it relates to their everyday life
-
-
What does it mean
White male is worried if its safe to go out due to Covid while the black male is worried due to many other reasons that stem from racist and stereotypical problems(hinting at police brutality and other issues)
a metaphor for being safe; white person questions is safe in a medical way, while the black man is worried to go out because he can be discriminated upon
the white man is hoping to go out, while the black man isn't
It is saying that for African Americans to go out, even with the pandemic slowing down.
Depending on your health circumstances, it may or may not be safe to go out
-
-
-
-
There are certain populations that are more vulnerable to COVID and its effect on daily life and the black man doesn't seem too sure about going out.
-
-
-
Both people want to go out but the black person can't because he probably has COVID or isn't vaccinated
-
-
hinting towards racism in america, and the fear that many black people are still not safe to go out opposed to their white counterpart
-
-
-
-
-
it means that some races are used to being protected by the system and other things. This isnt the case for every race though, with or without a pandemic there are other determining factors of which would affect ones safety outside
Symbols
-
It is symbolic for the difference between races. White people are expecting things for them to be normal like before. For people of color, racism and hate crimes have increased, so it if not safe.
symbolism of the racial and economic differences of a white person versus a person of color during the pandemic
-
The different races between the two men is symbolic for how they feel differently and have different concerns about the same issue of going outside.
-
white man's expression is aloof, black man expression is tired // represents difference in understanding and circumstance
-
-
-
Covid masks, indoors, diferent race, the black man looks tired meanwhile the white man looks confused
-
-
The facial expressions of the white vs black man say a lot about their attitude and perhaps even privilege that allow them to feel more safe about going out.
-
-
-
-
-
-
It means that while covid is happening the blm is a very real thing during thids
and its risking life of african americans.
-
The white man is questioning if it's safe to go out while the black man is stating that it isn't safe for him.
-
-
-
-
Masks, color of skin, facial expression
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
The root cause of this issue is the pandemic. Also, the underlying racial prejudice that we've seen also has a huge effect on which groups of people would even think it's safe to go out or not.
