Hyperlipidemia
Pathology:
Elevated concentration of lipids or fats in the blood. This concentration looks at low-density lipoproteins, total cholesterol, triglyceride levels, and lipoprotein levels. This can cause fatty deposits to accumulate in the blood vessels.

Ganglion Cyst
Pathology:
Ganglion cysts are noncancerous cysts that occur in the synovium of tendons or joints and are filled with a gelatin like mucous material. These cysts typically form in the hands or wrists but may also form in the ankles or feet. These cysts can be painful if exerting pressure on nearby nerves and may grow to be about 1-3 centimeters. Majority appear asymptomatic but some manifestations can be present.
Manifestations:

Respiratory Acidosis
Pathology:
A failure of ventilation that causes a build up of carbon dioxide in the blood. This will cause a decrease in bicarbonate levels, an increase in carbon dioxide levels, and a decrease in the blood's pH. A decreased level in pH should promote mechanisms of ventilation to balance out levels of carbon dioxide and bicarbonate to maintain homeostasis. A compensatory action called a buffer system by the kidneys should release more bicarbonate in order to maintain homeostasis in this situation.
When CO2 is high, buffers of HCO3 should begin to compensate resulting in increasing the pH back to homeostasis.
