Yellow Journalism was a type of Jornalism that weighed sensations and excitment over facts and the truth.

Yellow Journalism happened when the U.S.S Maine exploded on February 19th, 1898. The reporters put the blame on the Spanish who allegedly exploded the ship. It had an effect on imperialism by making Americans madder at The Spanish because they supposedly took the ship down. The people who caused the ruckus were Journalists wanting to make more profits than actually telling the truth.

Open door policy was introduced in the year 1898 by John Hay who was a secretary of state. He said that European leaders should respect China's rights and fair competition
This policy was connected to imperialism by showing the importance of exports. It also showed the importance of leaving foreign markets open.

The Roosevelt Corollary was a preventive measure to keep European powers out of the Western Hemisphere.
