- - - - The reluctant guests represent the Israelites, who were originally the chosen people.
        
        However, they rejected God, and so other people filled their spots in the Kingdom for them.
    - - Back then, refusing hospitality was a direct insult to the host. Coming late or waiting until the last minute was also a symbol of selfishness.
        
        Because of this, they had missed a chance to enjoy a great joy that they'd never get back.
      - Excuses, Excuses
        
        Many of the guest's excuses were due to them being busy. They had different reasons, but we must remember to not be distracted by those things and keep faithful, always.
        
        Another guest said that he needed to check on his new oxen. While new things are intriguing, they can distract us from worshipping God.
        
        Another mentioned his home. While home is an important place, that doesn't mean we can shut God off from our homes. We must let Him in selflessly, no matter what.
        
        One guest said that he was busy, and couldn't attend the banquet. However, this represents how if we're too caught up with our material life, it'll distract us from God.
  - - - The New Guests came from many backgrounds, and they represent us, the sinners and the Gentiles, who God has opened heaven up to.
